Dead Shrimps...

I think one of my tank is having issue...
So far, within one week, I had about 5 shrimps death...
I do see shrimps eating well, active, pooping, few femals carry eggs, plants growing well and I see some baby shrimps... what is wrong with shrimps death?
I also even checked my water. Nitrite, nitrate, ammonia is all 0 and pH is 7.2.
I know pH should be 7.0 or lower but, I don't think 7.2 will kill shrimps because I have few shrimps that had 7.2-7.6 pH and they breed like crazy.
I don't have GH and KH test kit... so, I can't test them...
I don't want to reset this tank because it's only been setup for 3 months and I don't think there is anything wrong with this tank.
I do water change 10-15% every 2-3 weeks.
I hope I don't have any more shrimp death...

Filter boxes...

It's been about 4-5 years since I started my fish hobby... I didn't realize I bought this many filters... I do have sponge filters and others but, I didn't have room to take a picture... Today, two of Eheim Ecco 2232 came and I took a picture before moving these boxes to cabinet. I am using these filters for my shrimp tanks and some are not even opened... I still have two 10g tanks and 20g tank that need to be reclean ready to use these filters. I might move to new house next year and would use them with new setup. Most of them was bought on sale or clearance.

10g and 7.9g tank...

This is 10g tank. I have setup with ADA substrate, Africana, two small sponge filters and Eheim Liberty 2040 hang on filter. I didn't need to root any plants so, I decided to put only 1-2 cm of soils. This been cycled about 6 weeks. Plants that are in this tank: java fern, fissidens, flame moss and round pellia. Round pellia have been tank for only 3 days and rest other plants are starting to grow nicely with DIY co2.

This is 7.9g tank, which is almost 8g... been setup for 2 weeks. The setup of this tank is Fluval Stratum substrate about 2 cm, very lightly Amazonia soils, Azoo big sponge filter and Eheim Liberty 2041 hang on filter. Plants in this tank are: java fern, round pellia and flame moss. Later on, I'm going to add little bit of fissidens. This tank also have DIY co2 running.

Shirakura Liquid Mineral Ca+

I Bought this 2010 and I really like this product. I been using this about 9 months and shrimps are more active, eating well and molting with no problem. This doesn't poison shrimps if small amount of liquid being dropped. I personally do 2-3 drops every 6-7 days.

Here is information about this product:

Shirakura Liquid Mineral Ca+ adds vital minerals to the aquarium water and raises its overall hardness (dGH). Especially when using very soft water, a lack of minerals is well-known to occur quite quickly and Shrimps might suffer from loss of colour and skinning problems. The important microorganisms in the filter and in the substrate become inactive and the water quality decreases. A water hardness (KH) of 0-2 is recommended for breeding bee shrimps, as is a pH-value of less than 7 in order to avoid the formation of ammoniac. However, achieving these values, the overall hardness (dGH) often gets too low. In this case it is recommended to harden the water with Liquid Mineral Ca+ in order to avoid the death of the shrimps. The water hardness (KH) is not influenced by this. Mr. Shirakura furthermore recommends maintaining an overall hardness (dGH) of 5 or more for a healthy and strong skin.

Example of usage

For a new aquarium, add 5 ml (about 60 droplets) of Liquid Mineral Ca+ per 10 l water. For existing aquariums with shrimps, add this dose over several days. Prepare exchange water mixture beforehand.

1 drop of Liquid Mineral Ca+ to 1 liter water raises the general hardness (GH) by about 1° dGh.
